Cecilia Verheyden (1985) is a young Belgian director and screenwriter. She graduated in 2007 with her short movie 'Ou Quoi'. This film got selected for many film fesMvals and won several awards on fesMvals such as the InternaMonal Short Film FesMval in Louvain, the Brussels Film FesMval and the Potsdam Student Film FesMval.

'Climbing Spielberg' is not only a television series, but also a documentary. I wrote the script with colleagues Raf Roosens and Senne Dehandschu"er.

For the short movie 'Ou Quoi', which I directed in 2007, I also wrote the screenplay. I was coached by the writer Jacques Boon (Happy Together, Vidange Perdue, Paulinne en Paule"e).

A Sound dit sounddesign, foley recording and mixing on “Saved bij the Lioness”. This NCF produced film was directed by Marjolein Duermeijer, woe also directed “Elephant, Return to the Wild” (wich won the Wildtalk Roscar award for best environmental film in 2007) and “Wild Dog Island”. All these films were mixed in 5.1 surround at A Sound and can be seen on Animal Planet.

2008 - Aljuciba
The Ba"le of Aljubarrota in the CIBA museum (Portugal) is a film we did sounddesign and mixing for last year. This year we provided recordings of several translaMons that run on synchronized audioguides in the museum. This way the public can follow the film in a defferent language on a headset, while the original Portuguese mix plays in 5.1 surrouns in the specially constructed theater. The Italian guide was just delivered with more languages coming later this year.

2010 - Turquaze
Earlier in 2010 A Sound did the sound ediMng, foley and mixing Turquaze. This beauMful film directed by Kadir Balci tells the story about the difficulMes of love and idenMty in a mulM-cultural society. Turquaze was selected for the 34th World FilmFesMval of Montreal and will now be shown at the Palm Springs fesMval (6-17th January).

2010 - Venus vs Me
‘Venus vs Me’, directed by Natalie Teirlinck and mixed at A Sound was selected for the 60th ediMon of the Berlin InternaMonal Film FesMval. Synopsis: Engtangled in a realm of thought, twelve-year-old Marie has trouble growing up. When her young mother brings home a new boyfriend, queaMons remain unanswered and communicaMon seems impossible. FreneMc, Marie tries to win back her mother while she silently finds solace in a world of memories.
